Ummm… how is it almost July already? Do you even remember those 2021 goals you set? Or maybe after the craziness of 2020, you might not have even set any goals. Regardless, as we reach the midpoint in 2021 it’s time to take stock and realign so we can create results in 2021 and remember this year for all the right reasons.
So if you’re committed to creating results in 2021, here’s what you need to do!
1. Accept where you are with your 2021 goals
Now the first half of the year may not have gone according to plan. Or perhaps you never had a plan to start with.
Whatever your situation, start by getting clear on where you are right now.
Be honest with yourself about your progress and consider what has and hasn’t worked over the last 6 months. Then accept it.
Accept your current circumstance and if need be, forgive yourself. Don’t waste time or energy berating yourself or engaging in shame or self-loathing because that won’t achieve anything constructive.
Instead, acknowledge any misaligned choices and forgive yourself.
In doing this, you’ll clear your energy and mind from guilt so that you can focus on getting back on track and keep working towards your goals.
2. Commit to one thing
A lot can happen in 6 months and by being focused on a single thing, you’ll be able to create big results in the remainder of the year.
So consider your life and all the things you want and pick one area of your life to work on. It might be your career, your health, finances or relationships. Trust your gut here and commit to the one area that feels most exciting for you.
By simplifying your focus to that one area, you’ll be able to amplify your results.
3. Define exactly what result you want to create in 2021
Now you have your area of focus clear, define what success at the end of 2021 look like for you. In other words, what is the exact goal you are trying to achieve?
Now, this may be a case of reviewing your original goals and tweaking them or you might be starting from scratch. Either way, keep in mind, the more specific you are the better your chances of success, so make sure your goal is a SMART one.
4. Stop making excuses
Finally, stop making excuses and fully commit. Make the mindset shift to turn pro and decide to go all in.
This means accepting that you’ll need to develop and grow, all of which will be uncomfortable.
Accept that there will be resistance, self-doubt and possibly even self-sabotage.
Decide that you’ll keep working to create results in 2021 despite all of this.
Because you can change the course of your life right now.
In fact, you are the only person who can.
